Where Tradition Begins

My story began in Palermo, Sicily, where I was born and raised surrounded by the aromas, flavors, and traditions of authentic Sicilian cooking.

More than twenty-five years ago, I moved to the United States, a journey that first took me to Chicago and then to Texas, where I spent many years working in the restaurant industry and helping open new dining concepts.

Eventually, I arrived in Key West and immediately fell in love with its beauty, its people, and its unique atmosphere. While working at the Waldorf Astoria Resort as a server and bartender, I continued to dream of opening a restaurant of my own, a place where I could share the flavors of my homeland.

That dream became a reality during the COVID-19 pandemic when Bruschetta Francesca was born. Despite the challenges, passion, determination, and the support of family and friends helped transform a lifelong dream into a successful restaurant.

I still travel regularly to Palermo to visit my mother, who continues to inspire me with traditional family recipes and new culinary ideas. Her guidance, together with the love and encouragement of my family, remains the heart and soul of everything we do at Bruschetta Francesca.

Every trip back to Palermo is an opportunity to reconnect with my roots, learn new recipes from my mother, and bring authentic Sicilian flavors back to Key West.
